Jess Jess Press is an emerging press dedicated to uplifting queer and fem artists and artists of color in the comics/magazine publishing industry. Their mission is to provide publishing opportunities and high quality printing services for underrepresented creatives in the Baltimore community, allowing marginalized artists to build their platform in an increasingly censored industry while staying local.

Brief: Creating a brand identity and a strong narrative for Jess Jess Press.
Jess Lipinsky and Jess Lin, both are the co-founders of the Press and wanted a vibrant and strong visual identity that convyes the vibrancy of Risograph, and. the playfulness that their boths individuality, and their cat’s Apollo bring to the ethos of their brand.
Since they are a publishing press and support comics and zine artists, the variations of the logo emphasizes on the versatility of their services and the different forms of binding they provide.
The typography is customized to emulate the roundedness of the cat’s tail and to maintain the
playfulness of their brand through primary typography.
Risograph is a complex and an intricate process, a big part of the branding was to simplify the process and make the information accessible to their customers.
I created the illustrations that were then expanded into instagram posts, stories, a trifold Riso Printed brochure that breaks down the process in simple steps.
